Edward Monroe
Construction & Development Manager

Edward Monroe has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry performing project management, design development, entitlements, budgeting and project coordination.

He has worked with TKH on its projects in both Northern & Southern, CA, and has also been closely involved in evaluating new acquisitions, podium projects and successfully dealing with development, construction and tenant criteria to achieve results that surpass expectations.

His retail experience includes all types of retail centers throughout California, including Santee Trolley Square (440,000 SF), Anaheim Hills Festival (480,000 SF), Santa Rosa Marketplace (82,000 SF) and Del Mar Highlands (140,000 SF).

Mr. Monroe has worked with all aspects of the construction, design and build out issues of a broad range of retailers, including Target, Home Depot, CompUSA, Safeway, Bank of America, Walmart, Borders, Home Base, Ralphs, Sportsmart, Cost Plus, Longs Drugs, Von's, Mervyns and numerous other tenants in virtually every retail category.

Mr. Monroe holds degrees in Architecture and Engineering from California Polytech University, Federal Contract Administration from USC in Los Angeles and is licensed by the State of California."

Nathan Capelo
Legal & Project Director

Nathan has depth of real estate law, operations and transactional experience. He handles asset and legal project management for TKH, including property oversight, contract negotiations and entity related matters.

He performs contract review of all kinds including leases, CC&Rs, purchase & sale agreements, entity and venture formation documents. Nathan also conducts due diligence on potential acquisitions and provides support to special projects for Tallen & Keshen Holdings and its affiliates.

He interfaces with existing and prospective tenants, municipal and state governments, lenders, accountants, brokers, legal counsel, vendors, property managers and principals and maintains project records with a view to the combined legal and business issues.

Nathan is also actively involved in TKH's support of charities in communities where they have holdings, including the negotiation and documentation of a commercial lease at the historic Egyptian Theatre located on Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA.

He completed his Bachelor's Degree from the School of Technology and Engineering at Brigham Young University and has experience in the fields of construction, facilities management, and real estate development.

Nathan is a graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law with a certificate of specialization in real estate from the school's Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship & the Law.

Nathan is a certified Facility Management Professional and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Gene Barash
Legal & Project Director

Gene is responsible for legal and project management and is involved in business development, financing, tenant relationships, venture formation and deal making.

Gene has extensive experience in the fields of real estate transactions and sales, marketing and insurance and brings both an entrepreneurial and result oriented approach to the legal, marketing and business issues.

He has experience in working as a real estate agent and investment analyst based in Los Angeles County, helping identify investment properties for acquisition and facilitating the purchase, financing and sale of various real estate assets throughout Southern California.

Gene is an experienced business owner and founder, having been the co-founder and managing agent of a profitable insurance agency where he was responsible for contracting with insurance carriers, organizing marketing campaigns, developing new business and managing client accounts.

He has a BS degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), where he was a UC Regents Scholar recipient and achieved a Latin Honors ranking.

Gene is currently a third-year student at Pepperdine University School of Law where he is on the Dean's List and is a Deans Scholarship Recipient and is also a fellow at the Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship & the Law.

He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and holds licenses as a California Real Estate Agent and Insurance Broker. He is also fluent in Russian.

Charles Esposito
TKH Legal & Project Coordinator 

Charles (C.J.) participates in the legal and project coordination of project refinancings, new and existing projects, facilitating relationships with existing and prospective tenants and assists with both project asset management and corporate operations.

He also assists with due diligence, entity formation, legal research and document coordination.

C.J. is a graduate of Boston University and is completing his final year at Pepperdine University School of Law. He is a fellow of the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law, and an officer of The Campus Finance Organization. Recently his advocacy team placed first in an entrepreneurial business plan competition at the Palmer Center.

He completed an internship at a Carlyle Group (NYC based prominent investment firm) subsidiary based in Southern California. There he worked for in-house counsel drafting and reviewing legal documents covering a wide variety of corporate transactions.

Prior to attending law school, C.J. was active in the management of an 18 store retail chain of health clubs based in Connecticut.

Lucretia Peschel
Accounting

Lucretia handles project and entity accounting for TKH assets and its principals. She interfaces with TKH's CPA firm, tax advisors, vendors and principals and maintains QuickBook's and project accounting records.

Lucretia is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at Colorado State University and has seven years experience in business accounting.

Stephanie Wilka
Community & Tenant Relations - Marketing & Leasing

Stephanie's background is in working in major league baseball, including the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers, which fostered her interest in real estate development and investment.

She assists TKH with legal and project coordination, as well as interacting with tenants in structuring their site selection objectives. She has also been involved in new project underwriting, municipality research and interface, as well as tenant leases, purchase & sale agreements and new ventures.

Stephanie also contributes research and support to special projects for Tallen & Keshen Holdings and its assets, focusing on the combined legal and business issues.

After completing her undergraduate work, she worked with the Boston Red Sox in their Public Affairs department and then relocated to spearhead the growth of the club's outreach in the Dominican Republic. Stephanie oversaw the construction of two baseball fields, the operation of an early education facility, and the donation and delivery of an ambulance.

Stephanie also served as the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Dodgers Dream Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Dodgers organization.

Stephanie has a Juris Doctorate degree. She has her undergraduate degree from Harvard University where she concentrated in Psychology and Spanish language. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
